Develop and maintain Becket & Lee's bankruptcy processing system. The current Clipper legacy system is being replaced with a new Visual Basic SQL Server integrated system. My responsibilities include the development of new VB applications, enhance, maintain the legacy Clipper applications, develop and maintain the company Intranet, and develop a Change Management Processing System.

Y2k Aegon Life Insurance conversion project: COBOL, CICS, DB2, MVS-JCL, IBM Assembler, Easytrieve, and Y2K Testing Tools.

Setup and test Y2k test environments.

Created Easytrieve processes to automatically rename and generate datasets from Aegon’s production system for their Y2k testing model offices. Datasets consisted of VSAM, GDG, and Sequential files. This eliminated the manual setup process being followed thereby saving Aegon weeks of setup time.
Assisted in aging of DB2 tables.
Created processes to age copies of production data from 1997 to 1999 – 2000 for Y2k testing.
Generated CICS scripts for automatic and repetitive online test input. This allowed the automatic ‘replaying’ of online test scripts between regions without manual error prone re-entering.
Setup CICS test regions, verified and corrected COBOL and Assembler code.
Created aged JCL for Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Annual cycles.

Enabled Aegon to complete their Y2k-testing on time and within budget.

Lead administrator in coordinating Vanguard’s migration from CA-Librarian to CA-Endevor. The advantage of CA-Endevor is that all elevations are handled with packages. This allows for better module change history and less module contention between development teams.
Coordinated the training of the application programming department’s use of CA-Endevor.

Represented Change Management’s interest in all development projects by coordinating source code and executables migration from the test and QA environments through production.

Participated in the development and maintenance of Vanguard’s paperless Lotus Notes Electronic Elevation system. This unique application streamlined coordination, tracking, and processing of all application development projects from test to QA and production. All management signoffs are electronic via Email.

Institutional (401-k) Application Programming Duties:

Maintained all vendors and customized source code.
Applied all local, state and federal tax code regulation changes for 401k disbursements and processing keeping Vanguard compliant with government regulators.
Introduced bar code technology using IBM AFP during a statement rewrite project. This project enabled Vanguard to reduce processing time and cost in preparing the mailing of statements to shareholders. Also, the barcode and AFP forms allowed Vanguard to reduce postal cost.
Contributed to developing Vanguard’s VOICE telephone network system. This pre-Internet phone system gave Vanguard the ability to provide account information to shareholders freeing up phone queues and client service representatives to handle more complex phone calls.
