  • A message from Sunoco: Sunoco Pipeline L.P. operates high-pressure petroleum products pipeline(s) in the communities in which you live/work. We are neighbors and petroleum products are essential to our way of life. Although underground pipelines offer the safest, most dependable and cost-efficient means of transporting these products, accidents can occur. To report an emergency to Sunoco Pipeline L.P. call us at: 1-800-786-7440.

We continuously monitor our pipeline operations and patrol the ROW's for unauthorized activities but construction and excavation remains one of the most common causes of pipeline emergencies. Heavy equipment driving across a pipeline may be all that it takes to cause damage or even a spill. We ask for you assistance in making certain those involved with construction have informed easement holders on a project site and, where necessary, obtained the easement holders approval for use of their ROW prior to receiving authorization for projects. This will help us prevent unnecessary pipeline damage and encroachments that endanger the safety of all.

State and Federal Laws require anyone planning to excavate to first place a call to their State One Call System, usually at least 48 hours prior to digging. For inquiries and/or concerns and/or ROW questions please call us at 877-795-7271 or contact us at our web-site, www.sunocologistics.com, under "Public Awareness - Eastern Pipeline System" located in the "Contact Us" section of our web-site.

We welcome your feedback to continuously improve our communications and Public Awareness Program.

·         A message from the Fire Marshal: Because a township has no specific burning ordinance, many have assumed they may burn land clearing, construction and commercial wastes. Chester County lies within the Southeastern Clean Air Basin as defined by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Within this area, open burning is strictly prohibited. The only exception is burning of household waste and household yard debris. Any fires not meeting these guidelines will be extinguished by the fire department and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection notified for enforcement action.

·         ATTENTION RESIDENTS: A friendly reminder...YOU are encouraged to perform regular maintenance of your On-lot septic system to ensure it operates properly and to prolong the life of the system.

·         A representative from LTL Consultants, Chuck Cutlip, who serves as our Zoning Officer and Building Inspector will continue to be available from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. before each Board of Supervisors meeting to answer residents questions about their projects and/or other concerns they may have. This will provide an opportunity for face-to-face contact and reduce the expense of phone conferences incurred by the township.
